In 2003 Chris Jackson, Ed Carpenter and Sam Johnson founded the design collective SHIFT. A critically acclaimed exhibition, Time:Frame, followed. Time:Frame displayed the results of the SHIFT collective collaborating with reproduction furniture manufacturers in the east end of London to develop a range of contemporary product.
Subsequently, designs from the exhibition were manufactured by companies including Authentics, Thorsten van Elten and Modus.
Pandora was designed with Peter Mac Cann as a system of simple cabinets and was exhibited as part of the Time:Frame Exhibition in 2003. A collaboration with East-London furniture manufacturer, Stallion Reproductions, Pandora used one of the main details within their reproduction range, a key for opening and locking cabinet doors, as the focal point for a more contemporary range with modest proportions aimed at small urban apartments.
